Fleas and Ticks

You will likely notice your pet itching a lot if they have fleas. One way to check if your dog has fleas is to get a white piece of paper and rub your dogs with it. Put some water on the flakes and if they turn red, that is a sign of flea dirt. If your pet has ticks, you may see or feel them stuck on their fur. Your veterinarian can help you remove ticks to ensure nothing is left behind.

A good way to prevent fleas and ticks is to use a veterinary prescribed product on a schedule that your veterinarian recommends.

Firstly, using a flea/tick medication as recommended will ensure the tick dies prior to transmitting a disease, such as Lyme disease. A veterinary technician can remove any ticks you find, and we can also send the tick away to be tested for diseases that it may have been carrying.
